    Brief

The University of Strathclyde seeks to procure and install wafer-level optical tester(s) to support the National Centre for Advanced Semiconductor Packaging (NCASP). This equipment will characterize distributed feedback (DFB) laser arrays and silicon photonic integrated circuits (PICs), enabling the UK to develop sovereign semiconductor packaging capabilities. The testers will support the transition of UK photonics and power electronics innovations from research to high-volume manufacturing, reducing reliance on overseas outsourced assembly and test facilities, decreasing time-to-market, and protecting intellectual property. Qualified suppliers should demonstrate capability in optical testing equipment suitable for wafer-level characterization of both laser and photonic circuit applications.
