Non-Operative Treatment Services for Low-Complexity Spine Patients in Ireland

The Irish health authority is seeking qualified medical service providers to establish a framework agreement delivering comprehensive outpatient care for approximately 1,200 patients with low-complexity spinal conditions. Low-complexity spine patients are defined as those with straightforward, one to two level spinal conditions requiring standard surgical or medical management with minimal technical difficulty and lower physiological risk. Successful providers will manage the complete patient pathway from initial specialist assessment through treatment and discharge, or until surgical intervention is determined necessary. Providers may be neurosurgical or orthopaedic spinal surgeons. This is a multi-party framework agreement, meaning multiple providers will be appointed. Appointed framework operators must be eligible to deliver low-complexity spine procedures under Ireland's National Surgical Services Framework. This opportunity allows providers to significantly reduce waiting times for a large cohort of patients by offering efficient outpatient-based treatment pathways as an alternative to traditional surgical waiting lists.
