    Brief

The University of East Anglia is seeking design teams to develop proposals for repurposing the Grade 2* listed Ziggurat buildings, which are currently closed. This two-stage design competition invites submissions from interested suppliers. In Stage 1, all qualified teams may submit initial proposals. Up to four design teams will be selected to progress to Stage 2, where they will develop their concepts further and prepare tender submissions for RIBA Stage 3 Design services to support Full Planning and Listed Building Consent applications. Each Stage 2 participant will receive an honorarium of £10,000 plus VAT to support their submission costs. The contract value represents a potential opportunity pending development of a comprehensive construction and refurbishment program. Successful designs must provide viable and feasible solutions ensuring the buildings remain in productive use for at least 50 years.
