    Brief

The Merseyside Waste Disposal Authority (MWDA) is seeking tenders from qualified and experienced contractors specializing in ground investigations to conduct Preliminary Contamination Risk Assessments at various waste management facilities operated by the Authority. This assessment is necessary as part of the long-term Waste Management and Recycling Contract (WMRC), which is set to expire in 2034. Before the contract ends, it is essential to evaluate whether any ground contamination has occurred during its duration. The sites in question were leased to the WMRC Contractor when the contract began in 2009. The MWDA aims to hire a qualified contractor to assess the potential for contamination linked to the operations conducted during the WMRC period. The work will be carried out in two phases: the first phase involves a desk-based study to evaluate the risk of contamination at the sites due to past operations. The second phase, which will be tendered separately, will involve on-site investigations and testing based on the desk study's findings.
