    Brief

Cornwall Council, representing both Cornwall Council and Plymouth City Council, is seeking experienced contractors to provide maintenance and support services for the engineering function at Tamar Crossings. This contract has a maximum duration of 10 years, starting with an initial 4-year term, followed by two optional extensions of 4 and 2 years, respectively. Contractors must hold key quality accreditations, including ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001, NHSS19A, and ICATS registration, and maintain these throughout the contract. The contract will be governed by an NEC4 Term Service Short Contract. There is no guaranteed minimum volume of work; tasks will depend on maintenance inspections and budget constraints. Work will be assigned based on a schedule of rates that vary by skill level. For instance, general litter picking will have a lower hourly rate compared to specialized paint inspection services. The current contractor employs between 4 to 12 personnel on-site daily, depending on client needs, budget, work availability, and weather conditions. TUPE staff transfers are expected to apply. Typical services required under this contract include: - Inspection support for Tamar Bridge inspectors - Paint inspection and maintenance services for buildings, structures, and ferries - Minor structural repairs, such as replacing damaged drainage and parapet mesh panels - Clearance of debris across the Tamar Crossings Estate - Rope access services for painting and inspections - Provision of special access equipment like towers and mobile platforms - Confined space work - Vegetation clearance - General labor support for ferry maintenance - Occasional overnight or weekend work as needed.
