Scottish Central Belt STEM Careers Engagement Programme for Secondary School Pupils

The Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB) is seeking a delivery partner or consortium to design and deliver a regional STEM engagement and careers attraction programme for the Scottish Central Belt. The programme aims to increase awareness of engineering construction careers among young people, teachers, and communities while strengthening the talent pipeline for the engineering construction industry. Delivery Partners Will: • Engage schools and coordinate curriculum-aligned STEM activities • Facilitate employer involvement and industry connections • Provide professional development opportunities for teachers • Build effective regional partnerships to maximize reach and impact • Work with secondary pupils aged 13-14 years (S2 equivalent) as the primary audience • Support teachers, careers advisers, local employers, and STEM networks as secondary stakeholders Contract Details: • Initial contract term: 2.5 years starting January 2027 • Delivery period: Two academic years from September 2027 • Pilot programme location: Scottish Central Belt • Submissions accepted from single suppliers or consortiums • Competitive tender process About ECITB: The ECITB is the employer-led skills and qualifications body for the engineering construction workforce across Great Britain, operating as an arms-length body of the UK Government under the Department for Education. The organization invests approximately £28 million annually in workforce skills development.
