    Brief

Westminster City Council and the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea are inviting market suppliers to a preliminary engagement event ahead of a competitive procurement for community transport services supporting older people who experience mobility, health or other barriers to public transport use. Service Overview: The service aims to promote independence, reduce loneliness and isolation, improve wellbeing, and enable older people to access shopping, social, leisure and community opportunities. Proposed services include shopper services, transport to Age Well Centres, flexible transport for trips and outings, volunteer-led and paid driver car schemes, and transport supporting wider Older People's Day Opportunity Services across both boroughs. Contract Details: Anticipated contract term is five years with an option to extend for up to three years and six months. Market Engagement Event: An online market engagement event will be held on Wednesday 21 October 2026, from 10:30am to 11:45am. The event will cover the proposed services and delivery model, anticipated procurement timetable, proposed contract arrangements, and intended procurement approach. How to Participate: Suppliers wishing to attend should register interest through the Westminster City Council Jaggaer procurement portal, searching for: SQ_30226 - Community Services Transport for Older People - Market engagement event EOI. Joining instructions will be issued to registered suppliers. Please note: This engagement exercise does not constitute a call for competition, commitment to undertake procurement, or a pre-qualification process. Participation is voluntary and will not confer any advantage or disadvantage in any subsequent procurement.
