Services for Protecting Endangered Plant and Animal Species in Leudal

The municipality of Leudal is seeking a contractor to develop a Species Management Plan (SMP) and a Pre-SMP. Based on the (Pre-)SMP, a (temporary) area-specific environmental permit will be requested from the Provincial Executive of Limburg. The contractor will submit the application for the area-specific environmental permit and assist the municipality in this process. The SMP involves comprehensive ecological research and strategies to ensure and enhance biodiversity, particularly for protected species within the municipality, through well-considered protective, mitigating, and stimulating measures. The main tasks include: 1. Developing a Pre-SMP, including a compensation plan for large breeding facilities; 2. Requesting a Pre-SMP exemption from the Province of Limburg; 3. Managing the first phase of the compensation plan for large breeding facilities; 4. Conducting the necessary ecological research for the SMP (baseline measurement); 5. Developing the SMP, including the second phase of the compensation plan and implementation plan; 6. Preparing and managing the second phase of the compensation plan; 7. Successfully applying for an area-specific environmental permit from the Province of Limburg based on the SMP; 8. Monitoring all phases. The research area includes the sixteen villages of the municipality of Leudal, which mainly consist of small villages in the rural area.
