Fibre and Copper Installation Opportunity at Heathrow

Fujitsu is looking for a qualified small or medium-sized enterprise (SME) to perform fibre and copper installation work as part of the Airfield/Airside Implementation programme at Heathrow Airport. The selected contractor will be responsible for providing, installing, testing, and commissioning fibre and copper infrastructure, ensuring compliance with industry standards and specific requirements for the Heathrow site. Key responsibilities include: - Installing fibre optic and copper cabling infrastructure, including containment systems. - Terminating, splicing, and testing fibre and copper cables to meet required specifications. - Commissioning the installed infrastructure to ensure it is operationally ready. - Adhering to Heathrow's safety, security, and airside access protocols. - Providing installation documentation, test results, and handover packs. The successful SME must hold the following industry accreditations: - CSCS/ECS Certification for all site operatives. - NRSWA (New Roads and Street Works Act) accreditation where applicable. - Manufacturer certifications for fibre and copper systems (e.g., Excel, Commscope, Panduit). - ISO 9001 Quality Management certification. - ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety certification. - SMSTS for Managers. - SSSTS for Supervisors. - Asbestos awareness training for all staff. - Training for confined space and working at height, as applicable. Target Supplier Profile: - SMEs based in or near the Heathrow area. - Proven experience in fibre and copper installation within the aviation, transport, or critical infrastructure sectors. - Ability to provide flexible and responsive support aligned with Heathrow's operational needs.
