Community Safety Stewards in The Hague

The Municipality of The Hague is seeking to hire stewards to enhance the safety and atmosphere for visitors in key public areas, including Plein, Buitenhof, Grote Markt, Hofkwartier/Noordeinde, and the Scheveningen boulevard. The stewards will ensure a safe and pleasant environment for nightlife, reduce and prevent disturbances, and de-escalate conflicts among the nightlife crowd, residents, and businesses. They will also address issues of street harassment and discrimination, collaborate with security companies and police, and report incidents. On the Scheveningen boulevard, stewards will engage with visitors to raise awareness about their behavior and provide follow-up support, directing individuals to appropriate services when necessary.
