Cycle Hire Scheme in Central Bedfordshire

Central Bedfordshire Council is seeking suppliers to establish a cycle hire scheme that will provide between 50 to 100 pedal bicycles across four towns: Houghton Regis, Leighton Buzzard, Biggleswade, and Ampthill. In Houghton Regis, with a population of around 20,000, the scheme will serve at least 12 locations, including six sites in the Bidwell West and Linmere developments, which are key funding sources. Leighton Buzzard and Linslade, with a combined population of approximately 43,000, will also have at least 12 locations, with six in the Chamberlains Barn and Clipstone Park developments. Cycle parking, using Sheffield Stands, will be installed at these locations before the scheme starts. Biggleswade, home to about 22,500 residents, will have at least 8 locations, and Ampthill, with a population of around 9,000, will have at least 6 locations, both equipped with Sheffield Stands for cycle parking prior to the launch of the scheme.
