Nature Kindergarten Operation and Support in Adelhausen

The city of Rheinfelden (Baden) is located on the picturesque banks of the Rhine River, directly at the Swiss border. With around 34,000 residents, it is a vibrant place that harmoniously combines tradition and modernity. The city places great importance on quality education, care, and support in its childcare facilities. A diverse range of providers aims to meet the varying needs of children. Currently, there are 23 childcare facilities in Rheinfelden (Baden), ensuring that care options are available close to home. Seven different providers operate these facilities. According to the current demand planning for 2024/2025, there is a need for approximately 30 daycare spots in the Adelhausen district. Currently, there is one nursery group and two playgroups in the area, but there is no care option for children aged three years until school entry. The need in the district can largely be met by operating the nature kindergarten. Due to the existing demand, some children from surrounding districts and the city center will also attend the facility. No further expansion plans are currently in place for the Adelhausen district. The nature kindergarten will be newly constructed, with the purchase of two construction trailers approved in the building and environmental committee meeting on February 13, 2025. The building application has also been submitted, and approval of this application is a prerequisite for the opening of the nature kindergarten. The awarding authority expects a positive decision. The construction trailers are expected to be set up in early August 2025.
