Construction Works for the Expansion and Renovation of Bad Salzig Wastewater Treatment Plant

The Boppard Canal Works aims to centralize wastewater treatment by decommissioning the Boppard-Ewigbach and Holzfeld treatment plants and redirecting the wastewater to the Bad Salzig treatment plant. The future capacity of the Bad Salzig plant will be 14,500 population equivalents, with a design water flow of 110 liters per second. The Bad Salzig plant must be expanded and renovated to meet the new inflow load and current treatment standards. Before the construction work for Phase II begins, it is necessary to create a level area in Phase I. This will involve constructing an overlapping bored pile wall to stabilize the slope in the western area of the expansion site and excavate, as well as building a retaining wall along the eastern property boundary (parallel to the railway line) to allow for the filling of the expansion area.
