    Brief

Cosby Parish Council is seeking tenders for the development of a section of the cemetery located on Narborough Road, Cosby, Leicestershire. This project involves transforming an unused area into a dedicated space for the interment and scattering of ashes, as well as the placement of memorial plaques for those whose ashes have been scattered. The council aims to create a serene environment specifically for the interment of cremated remains. We invite tenders from qualified landscape designers and suppliers with relevant experience. The development area is approximately 560 square meters, with a large golden cypress tree occupying about 4 square meters. A basic design plan is available, along with the full tender document, which includes installation requirements for memorials. It is highly recommended that bidders take their own measurements before submitting any plans. Designs and materials should align with the rural character of Cosby Cemetery. Interested parties can access the full tender document on the Cosby Parish Council website: https://www.cosbyparishcouncil.gov.uk/documents/2004727. **Tender Submission Process:** - Tenders must be submitted by Thursday, July 31, 2025, in a sealed envelope marked "Confidential Tender - Cemetery" to the provided contact details. - Submissions should include proof of Public Liability Insurance, a PPE policy, and evidence of relevant accreditations. Photographic evidence of previous work is also required. - The council plans to review tenders before Thursday, August 14, 2025. - Bidders will be notified of the outcome within 28 days of the council's approval on August 14, 2025. - Any clarification questions should be directed via email to the Parish Manager or Assistant Parish Manager at clerk@cosbyparishcouncil.gov.uk. - Please refrain from contacting any Parish Councillor during the tender period. **Scope of Work Includes:** - Site setup, including necessary fencing, storage, and welfare facilities. - Creation of square plots for the interment of ashes. - Development of DDA-compliant pathways and circular areas for memorial installations. - Installation of bases for a Memorial Tree and a Woodland Wing Memorial Sculpture. - Creation of two flower beds. - Installation of seven plinths for memorial benches and one supplied memorial bench. - Installation of natural screening to conceal the compost heap area. - Ensuring all surfaces are made good, edges backfilled, and holes filled to prevent trip hazards. - Removal of all spoil and waste from the site. - Dismantling of fencing, storage, and welfare facilities upon project completion.
