    Brief

This public procurement contract involves the delivery, installation, and commissioning of an Energy-Dispersive X-ray (EDX) detector. The EDX detector is designed to determine the elemental composition of samples and will be integrated into an Ultra STEM microscope (Nion, HERMES™100S). This microscope is used for analyzing various types of very thin samples, such as ultrathin sections of biological specimens embedded in resin and nanoparticles. The new detector will enhance the capabilities of the existing microscope for elemental analysis at atomic resolution, which is crucial for research activities in the central laboratory, including studies of nucleic acids and cell samples. A key requirement is that the detector must be fully compatible with the existing hardware and software of the microscope. The supplier must also provide all necessary accessories (software, documentation) to ensure the detector operates according to all specified parameters. Additionally, the supplier must guarantee that the installation of the detector will not affect the warranty period of the existing STEM microscope.
