    Brief

Wrexham County Borough Council (WCBC) is establishing a procurement framework to deliver childcare services through two separate lots: Flying Start childcare and Non-Maintained Funded Early Education. This framework will enable an unlimited number of suitably qualified and experienced childcare providers to deliver services. WCBC will open applications annually each year for a September start date, allowing providers to join the framework and supporting market development and responsiveness to changing demographics. Unsuccessful applicants may reapply from 2027/2028 onwards. The main contract runs from 1 September 2026 to 31 August 2030, with an optional extension of up to two additional years (concluding 31 August 2032). Subsequent annual contract opportunities will be progressively shortened to maintain alignment with the 2030 or 2032 end date.
