    Brief

Bangor University's Marine Centre Wales is seeking preliminary market information to inform a future procurement for renewing and upgrading seawater aquarium systems in three research laboratories. This is a pre-procurement market engagement exercise, not a formal tender. The University invites suppliers to provide high-level information on: (1) indicative costs for comparable systems including installation, controls, life-support equipment, commissioning and maintenance; (2) examples of similar installations in marine research or aquaculture environments; (3) key design and installation considerations for integrating systems with existing facility infrastructure, including seawater supply, filtration, temperature control and monitoring; and (4) technical recommendations on system design, modularity, resilience, energy efficiency and lifecycle considerations. Suppliers are invited to attend a site visit on Monday 16th November 2024, 10:30am-12:30pm at Marine Centre Wales to view existing facilities and ask preliminary questions. Register at o.cahill@bangor.ac.uk. The University anticipates commencing a formal procurement process in December 2026. Participation is entirely voluntary and will not affect future competition. Any subsequent contract will be advertised separately and procured in accordance with applicable legislation.
