Tender Invitation for Tree Maintenance at Quarry Moor, Ripon

Ripon City Council is inviting suppliers to submit tenders for tree maintenance work at Quarry Moor, a nine-hectare nature reserve that includes areas designated as Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). The site features a mix of woodland and open spaces, primarily consisting of ash and English elm trees, with limited mature specimens. Following a Tree Risk Assessment conducted in July 2025, the council requires the following actions to ensure safety and maintain the health of the trees: 1. **Tree Removals** (to be completed within specified timeframes): - Removal of dead or severely compromised trees, including several common ash and English elm trees, with specific deadlines for each tree listed. 2. **Deadwood Removal** (to be completed within specified timeframes): - Removal of deadwood greater than 25mm from ash trees affected by Ash dieback, with specific trees and deadlines outlined. 3. **Additional Works**: - For one field maple tree, either sever and remove ivy or remove the tree to the boundary within 3 months.
