    Brief

The Danube development project in Tuttlingen is the largest urban development initiative since the city's reconstruction after the 1803 fire and the state garden show in 2003. Spanning over five kilometers, this project offers a unique opportunity to rethink and sustainably develop the urban Danube area, along with adjacent connections, open spaces, and locations. The planned measures respond to new legal frameworks and the prohibition of full damming, focusing on sustainable, climate-resilient, and livable enhancements of Tuttlingen's green and water areas. Due to the large spatial distances and diverse issues, the project is divided into eight sub-projects. The goal of this sub-project (Sub-project 1) is to construct a new foot and cycle bridge over the Danube, ensuring safe, sustainable, and barrier-free connections between city districts. The bridge will be designed to meet economic, technical, and aesthetic requirements while fulfilling functional, urban planning, and ecological aspects. This initiative aims to promote mobility, strengthen environmental connections, enhance local recreational landscapes, and ensure a future-proof, low-maintenance structure. As part of the urban and landscape planning development in the "Danube-Sleeve" area, the construction of a new foot and cycle bridge over the Danube is planned. This bridge will serve as a central connection between the new train station passage and the adjacent northern district of Koppenland, significantly contributing to overall pathway connectivity and the ecological and urban enhancement of the city area. The planning is based on the feasibility study conducted by the city of Tuttlingen, which includes the preferred variant and associated cost estimates, serving as the basis for the performance description and fee determination.
