Grade I Listed Grimsby Dock Tower Conservation and Refurbishment Project

Associated British Ports (ABP) is seeking specialist heritage contractors to undertake conservation, refurbishment and restoration works on the Grade I Listed Grimsby Dock Tower, a nationally significant heritage asset and iconic landmark at the Port of Grimsby. The project involves detailed design and works to address deterioration of critical structural and historic elements, including replacement and refurbishment of water pipes, access structures, parapets, decking, and the tower spire, plus conservation of the original spiral staircase and historic water supply infrastructure. Several key elements have reached end-of-life and require urgent attention to prevent further deterioration, potential enforcement action from Historic England, and reputational damage. This is a closed invitation-only tender process open only to contractors with demonstrable experience delivering conservation works to Grade I and other highly protected historic structures. Tender evaluation will assess project delivery methodology, construction programme and sequencing, health and safety management, heritage conservation experience, proposed team and key personnel, and risk management arrangements, alongside transparent price comparison.
