Arc Vessel Support Components Manufacturing for Diamond-II Upgrade

Diamond Light Source (DLS), located on the Harwell Science & Innovation Campus in Oxfordshire, is a world-leading synchrotron facility supporting scientific research at the atomic and molecular level. DLS is undergoing a major upgrade to Diamond-II, which will significantly enhance the facility's speed, spatial resolution, and user capabilities across life and physical sciences. This contract invites suppliers to manufacture vessel support fabrications, assemblies, and machined components according to DLS-provided specifications and detailed engineering drawings. The supplier will be responsible for: • Procuring all required materials • Manufacturing components to specification, including machining, stress relieving, and applying required coatings • Designing and fabricating all necessary jigs and tooling • Performing quality assurance and documentation • Delivering fully assembled components, set to mid-travel position where applicable • Providing protective cleaning and appropriate packing for delivery to DLS DLS welcomes supplier recommendations for design modifications that could improve performance, cost-effectiveness, or delivery timelines.
