    Brief

The Authority seeks a service provider to deliver a military Biomedical Scientist (BMS) training programme leading to Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration. The framework agreement will cover three intakes of trainees commencing Autumn 2026 through to completion of the full degree programme, including theoretical modules and supervised clinical placements. The successful provider must deliver clinical placements and maintain registration portfolios within IBMS-approved training laboratories, enabling military BMS trainees to achieve IBMS Certificate of Competence and HCPC registration. Clinical rotations are required across four specialties: Haematology, Biochemistry, Blood Transfusion, and Microbiology. The programme will accommodate up to 10 new trainee biomedical scientists per annum. Providers should have expertise in HCPC-accredited training pathways, access to approved laboratory facilities, and experience in military healthcare or structured professional development programmes.
