Body Transportation Service for Cornish Coroner

Cornwall Council seeks a qualified service provider to transport deceased persons from places of death to designated mortuaries and body holding facilities across Cornwall, Devon, and nationally. This is a statutory service required under The Coroner's & Justice Act 2009 to facilitate investigations into sudden, unexpected, or unnatural deaths. The Senior Coroner's office will direct collections via the Police Control Centre or Coroner's Officers. The successful contractor must be reliable, professional, and capable of handling sensitive removals with appropriate equipment and trained staff. The contract runs until 31 March 2026, with a new competitive tender process now underway to appoint the next service provider.
