    Brief

The University of Kent is inviting experienced café operators to provide feedback on a planned café operation within Docking Station, a new creative and innovation hub opening at Medway's Historic Dockyard in early 2027. Docking Station will serve as a publicly accessible centre for digital creativity, research, learning and community engagement, featuring advanced production facilities, flexible workspaces, and exhibition areas designed to unite students, academics, creative businesses, entrepreneurs and the local community. A quality café is essential to the visitor experience and building success. This pre-market engagement exercise seeks operator input on: operating model preferences, food and beverage offerings with community focus, sustainability and accessibility approaches, support for events and programmes, fit-out and equipment needs, and commercial considerations. This is a consultation to inform future procurement and does not guarantee a tender opportunity. Participation is voluntary and will not advantage or disadvantage any supplier in subsequent procurement processes. Feedback provided will not be scored or evaluated.
