    Brief

Sought: A portable, non-powered wet chemistry kit for field deployment by emergency responders to rapidly identify and characterise unknown substances at incident scenes. The solution must enable frontline personnel with basic training to identify or categorise unknown materials, detect high-risk hazards, and support safe decision-making in accordance with UK operational doctrine (CBRN/HazMat principles). The kit must be robust enough for use in all weather conditions (rain, cold, heat, wind) and diverse environments including indoor and outdoor locations, response vehicles, specialist vehicles, marine vessels, and aircraft. The system must comply with applicable transport restrictions and be used prior to laboratory analysis to prevent personal injury or equipment damage from uncharacterised materials. Suppliers should note this is a pre-screening tool to reduce contamination risks before advanced analytical equipment is deployed.
